USCIS selected more H-1B registrations for the 2021 H-1B cap (i.e., fiscal year 2022 cap) on July 28, 2021. Those who previously registered in March 2021 may have been selected in this second round of selections and may be eligible to file an H-1B petition during the second filing period. The July 2021 Selection of Reserve Registration will be opening its filing period from August 2, 2021, through November 3, 2021.

Individuals who registered earlier this year but were not selected should check to see their case was selected in this second round of selections by logging into their myUSCIS accounts which was used to complete the registration process. If the registration status changed from “submitted” to “selected”, this means the case was selected in this second-round lottery and would be eligible to submit an H-1B petition during the second filing period.
